Direct message the job poster from Morgan Philips Group Associate Manager @ Morgan Philips Group Morgan Philips Group has been exclusively mandated to partner with a leading private equity firm to hire a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for one of their newly acquired portfolio companies in the industrial sector, focused on semiconductors and precision engineering. This is a newly created role, reflecting the company’s transformation under new ownership. As part of a broader revamp and growth strategy, we are seeking an accomplished and hands-on CFO to lead the financial strategy, build robust processes, drive operational excellence, and create sustainable value in this next phase of the company’s journey. Role Summary The CFO is a key member of the executive team, responsible for driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making, and building a best-in-class, yet pragmatic finance function suited to a mid-market, private-equity-backed environment. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution - ideal for a leader who thrives in less structured, resource-constrained settings, such as carve-out situations, and who can bring order and clarity to a business undergoing transformation. Partner with the CEO and Board to shape and deliver the company’s growth strategy, including M&A, capital raising, and operational initiatives. Build a high-impact finance and accounting team, capable of supporting the business today while preparing it for future growth. Lead all financial functions: FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, compliance, and risk management. Establish robust reporting systems, internal controls, and governance to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency. Drive value creation through operational improvements, cost optimization, and performance monitoring. Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and capital allocation to support business objectives. Act as a strategic partner to operations, supply chain, and commercial teams to enhance plant-level and regional performance. Navigate the complexities of a carve-out or newly independent entity, building processes and systems from the ground up where needed. Maintain strong relationships with auditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders. Requirements Proven track record as CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance leader, ideally in a private equity-backed, mid-market industrial, manufacturing, or technology business. Experience in carve-outs, turnarounds, or building finance functions in less structured environments is highly desirable. Strong expertise in corporate finance, M&A, fundraising, and operational improvement. Demonstrated ability to lead change, deliver results, and operate hands-on in a resource-constrained, fast-paced environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, MBA, or equivalent) is preferred.
