We’re proud to be delivering the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), and we’re looking for the best people to help make it happen. QTMP involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trains will be built at a new, purpose-built facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast. This is your chance to be part of an industry leading, world class project. The role at a glance In this role, you will contribute to the high-quality finishing of QTMP railcars through a variety of painting and surface preparation tasks. Key Responsibilities: Perform surface preparation, including sandblasting and paint prep, to ensure optimal coating adhesion Apply protective and decorative coatings to railcar components using industry-standard techniques and equipment Install decals in line with design specifications Follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures to maintain quality and compliance Collaborating with team members to meet production schedules while upholding high standards of finish and durability About you A trade, engineering, or tertiary qualification - Certificate III in Painting Understanding of manufacturing processes and best practices. Must have automotive painting experience, 2 Pac, epoxy, body filler work, fiber glassing and masking experience. Ability to prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking) Skilled in applying paint finishes using brush, roller, and spray equipment Experience preparing and installing decals and signage Please note: There are gate start roles.
