Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced QA / QC Coordinator to support brownfield modification projects based in Portland, Victoria on a permanent basis. Site The Role The role plays a critical part in ensuring quality assurance and control standards are met throughout all phases of construction and maintenance in a live operational environment. You will oversee the implementation of the Quality Management System for brownfield upgrades involving structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and civil scopes. A strong understanding of smelter operations, hot metal interfaces, and working in brownfield heavy industrial settings is essential. Monitor subcontractor compliance to project specifications, codes and standards. Work with Supervisors to ensure all activities: Ensure all checks and testing are completed as per the ITP, providing QC signoffs on hold point steps as required Provide final inspection of construction work and create a list of outstanding punchlist items if required Document non-conformances Ensure all QA information is compiled and provide completed workpacks back to the client post construction activities Ensure construction activities are supported by appropriate QA documents, revise and create these as required Coordinate third-party inspections and testing (NDT, weld inspection, etc) Conduct site audits and manage NCRs, corrective/preventative actions Participate in quality-related toolbox talks, kick-off meetings and HSE initiatives Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Trade or Engineering background in Mechanical, Structural or Electrical disciples Minimum 5-8 years QA/QC experience in heavy industry brownfield projects Strong understanding of Australian Standards for welding, civil and structural works QA/QC experience in smelting, mining, or oil & gas projects highly regarded Experience with working with ITPs and QA/QC documentation Experienced and knowledgeable to be able to identify non-conformance with completed works Ensuring Quality check ‘Hold Points’ are adhered to and reporting where noncompliance is identified Implementing & Maintaining a Quality Incident report register Demonstrated sbility to work in live plant environments with strict safety protocols Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Systems Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs, SLDs, and technical specifications Strong reporting, communication, and coordination skills Previous shutdown experience Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
