Our client works closely with farmers, graziers and Traditional Owners to develop nature-based projects in carbon abatement, biodiversity conservation, water security, and plastics circularity. About this opportunity: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and long-term growth of one or more of our domestic carbon portfolios. As Head of Portfolio, you will lead a dedicated team to ensure projects achieve their outcomes, maintain the highest quality and integrity, and deliver demonstrable value to all stakeholder groups, including landholders and the organisation. Key responsibilities include: Portfolio Leadership: Oversee a portfolio of active environmental projects, ensuring focus on achieving project outcomes like the maintenance and growth of carbon stock, biodiversity, and agricultural production. Performance & Growth: Drive project performance in line with expectations and forecasts, including the generation and sell-through of ACCUs and other credits. Integrity & Compliance: Ensure all reporting and audit obligations are met with the highest level of integrity. Strategic Management: Lead the effective planning and management of your portfolio at all stages, from strategic planning and forecasting to budgeting and goal setting. Impact & Innovation: Identify opportunities to enhance project impact and support the development of new opportunities across current and emerging project types and methodologies. Team Development: Manage and develop your portfolio team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment. Collaborative Contribution: Work effectively across the broader Operations team, contributing to the long-term success of the organisation's consolidated domestic carbon portfolio(s). The ideal candidate will have/be: A proven track record of successfully building and leading multidisciplinary teams, ideally encompassing commercial and technical functions. Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining long-term partnerships and stakeholder relationships . Adaptability to manage uncertainty in evolving, ambiguous environments. Strong commercial acumen , with experience and responsibility for commercial aspects of previous roles.
