Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits Various Locations, Metro SA Full Time, Part time, Permanent and Temporary contracted roles About the role We are seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Officer – Bacteriology (TGO2) to play a key role in supporting the delivery of 24-hour diagnostic services. This position involves applying advanced technical judgement and specialised knowledge across a range of complex testing methods within the Bacteriology Department. You will contribute both independently and as a project lead on minor technical initiatives, ensuring timely, high-quality outputs that support clinical outcomes. In addition to performing and verifying complex tests, you will supervise and mentor less experienced staff, provide technical advice to clients, and contribute to the ongoing assessment of procedures and equipment. Your ability to manage priorities, maintain service standards, and support continuous improvement will be instrumental in the department’s performance and service delivery. About You You are an experienced technical professional with advanced bacteriology expertise and a strong commitment to laboratory quality and client service. Your ability to manage complex workloads, supervise others, and maintain precision under pressure makes you a reliable contributor to a high-functioning diagnostic team. Hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a recognised laboratory qualification, or an approved equivalent. Extensive experience across key technical domains in bacteriology, with proven problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities. Skilled in supervising and training staff, preparing technical reports, and delivering work to high standards with accuracy and confidentiality. Strong knowledge of quality systems, WHS, diagnostic practices, and relevant legislative and accreditation requirements.
