Share E-mail Tweet Like Part-time, ongoing role five days per fortnightOversee receipt of waste and recyclables at the Landfill$30.72 per hour superannuation (weekend rates apply) The Opportunity As a Landfill Attendant, you will oversee the receipt of waste and recyclables, maintain security of the site, control site litter, and assist with the management of data collection. This site has an excavator so you will need to be comfortable using this type of machinery. Key Responsibilities Assist in resource recovery, diverting from landfillEnsure bins are filled to ensure maximum capacity and sorted appropriatelyControl vehicles, inspect loads and direct customers to appropriate drop-off locationsCollect customer cash and EFTPOS payments and record data using PIVOT systemEnsure the site is regularly tidied and daily checklists are completedEnsure compliance with EPA regulations, safety standards, and Council policies. In this position, you will work five days per fortnight, one week on one week off: Days are Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun; 8.00 am to 1.00 pm Sometimes there is scope for additional hours by agreement, as required by the organisation (eg: leave cover). What We Are Looking For Experience operating a landfill, transfer station, or similar infrastructureConfident operating plant and equipment used in landfill operationsStrong customer service and communication skills Physically fit and able to manage workload and duties effectively Required licenses:A current Victorian driver’s licenseExcavator ticket If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical check.
