The classification can range from C12-C6 As a member of Fleet Services Group, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor you will be required to undertake design, fabrication and fitment of ancillary components and equipment for operational police vehicles, ensuring all assets are fit for purpose and maintained to meet the complex environment in which they are deployed and utilised. Your key accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: - Prepare, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and vehicle manuals to ensure compliance in accordance with Australian Design Rules (ADRs).- Design and fabricate components for operational police vehicles in accordance with relevant legislation, Australian Design Rules, Australian Standards and Health & Safety requirements.- Refurbish parts and accessories and other associated equipment, in preparation for installation in new vehicles.- Undertake the fitting and removal of ancillary and operational equipment for specialist motor vehicles.- Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment and competently and safely use hand and special tools and electronic diagnostic equipment, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements. Role Requirements Mandatory - Possession of a current Queensland driver's license Class C or equivalent license. Qualification - While not mandatory possession of trade certificate qualifications as Tradesperson (Fabricator) will be highly regarded. Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience - Qualifications, skills and knowledge deemed to be equivalent, together with demonstrated experience in fitting, welding, fabrication and/or automotive trades environment.- Proficient in using a range of metal fabrication tools and equipment, including but not limited to using MIG and TIG welding machines, guillotine, press and power tools. Other - 9-day fortnight working pattern. Uniforms are provided. The successful applicant will be located at 20 Pickering Street, Alderley. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
