The Flex model utilizes independent contractors to help fulfill "Ultrafast" customer deliveries including Amazon Grocery, Whole Foods, same day Amazon.com orders and beyond. Our Finance team works closely with Tech, Product & Program Managers to track performance reporting and support analysis for optimization of labor planning, pricing, routing and expansion opportunities which help improve safety, customer quality and reduce costs. With a rapidly expanding international team and scope, we are looking for a Financial Analyst Intern who is a creative problem solver to support our growth while gaining Finance experience in a tech-driven organization. This role will work closely with APAC Flex business team and cross-functional business leaders across the Last Mile org. Be part of the journey in this exciting space and help make history! This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders in Flex Operations, Flex Tech, Amazon Logistics (AMZL), and Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF). This role works with business operators, technical product managers, legal teams and software developers. This role designs and develops performance measurements and quantifies impact to the business based on strategic input drivers to grow and continuously improve the economics of the business. The successful candidate has demonstrated the following abilities: they influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, deal with ambiguity and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. You bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate by building creative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, identifying the high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that effect company-wide strategic decisions. Key job responsibilities - Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, and drive improvements. - Identify, resolve, or provide guidance to manage complex data sets and analyses. You will bring in insights to address financial risk and support frugality. - Use active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly. Your communications drive critical business decisions. - Collects and analyzes quantitative data to develop relevant reports that drive cost reductions. - Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely. - Assist in the development of all forecasting and reporting models and their continuous innovation and improving the use and ease of interpretation by your business partners. Basic Qualifications - BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science). Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience in leveraging AI tools. - Analytical, detail-oriented and keen business acumen; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions and demonstrated experience managing such mechanisms to an end result. - Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment.
