About us That’s Amore Cheese is an award-winning Australian producer of authentic Italian-style cheeses, combining artisanal traditions with modern scale. As the business expands across Australia and international markets, we are seeking a detail-oriented, commercially astute Junior Financial Controller to sharpen internal performance monitoring and support strategic decision-making. This is not your typical accounting job. You’ll be the go-to person for financial insights that drive performance, supporting the CEO and business leaders with analysis, forecasting, and deep commercial understanding. No team to manage. No endless compliance work. Just you, your numbers, and your ability to make them count. You’ll partner closely with Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Marketing to track margins, plan budgets, challenge assumptions, and improve our bottom line. If you love digging into numbers and turning them into strategy, this is your seat at the table. This is a hands-on controlling role responsible for financial planning, forecasting, margin tracking, and performance analysis. It does not include staff management or responsibility for statutory reporting or financial governance. The Junior Financial Controller acts as a strategic business partner, working cross-functionally to provide insight, challenge assumptions, and support smarter decision-making across the company. Key Responsibilities Controlling & Performance Analysis Analyse monthly business performance vs. budget, forecast, and prior year across cost centres, products, and channels. Monitor operational KPIs (e.g. yields, wastage, labour costs, logistics cost-to-serve) and provide actionable commentary. Develop and maintain internal reporting packs and dashboards (P&L, margins, contribution by product line). Budgeting & Forecasting Coordinate the annual budget process with all departments. Lead the rolling forecast process, stress testing assumptions and modelling scenarios. Provide the leadership team with cash flow forecasts and financial planning support. Business Partnering Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure financial forecasts and cost tracking are aligned with operational plans, commercial campaigns, and strategic priorities. Support department heads with insights into financial performance, cost drivers, and improvement opportunities. Assist in commercial projects such as pricing, new product development, and investment cases. Systems & Reporting Tools Drive automation and improvements in financial models, reports, and Excel/ERP workflows. Ensure consistency and transparency in reporting across entities and departments. Key Requirements CA, CPA or CIMA qualified. 5 years’ experience in a Junior Financial Controller or Commercial Analyst role, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, or food sectors. Strong financial modelling and analysis skills (Excel is a must; Power BI is a plus). Deep understanding of management accounting, margin analysis, and cost control. Systems-oriented; experience with MYOB, Ostendo, or similar ERP software preferred. Self-starter, capable of working independently and interacting with all levels of the business. What We Offer A visible, impactful role in a rapidly growing company. High autonomy and the ability to shape how financial insights drive business decisions. Collaboration with a motivated, values-driven leadership team. Competitive remuneration aligned to experience and capability.
