About the role The Transmission Powerline Workers are accountable under the leadership and direction of their Team Leader or Supervisor to carry out the duties associated with the construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of overhead transmission systems. This would involve working with machines, manual tasks (such as climbing/ heavy lifting/ rigging) and working with computers (various programs/ data capture). You must be able to study and interpret technical drawings, network line diagrams and maps. You will also need to liaise with Network Operator Inspectors and customers and complete comprehensive risk assessments as well as maintaining work in progress plans. Transmission Powerline Workers are responsible for working safely and efficiently, while contributing positively to a team environment. They must also be self-motivated and capable of performing independently when necessary." Day to day you will be: Maintaining and constructing Overhead Transmission assets Dealing with project work – Including conductor replacement and removals, insulator and hardware replacement, tower and pole repairs and upgrades, new line builds (stringing new lines, new poles and tower installations etc). Trained in and conduct live line and bare hand works A portion of the year will be spent working on project sites currently throughout SA on an 11:3/ 10:4 roster (all overtime payable at double time and travel allowances apply). About you You will bring a strong commitment to working safely and the ability to learn new skills and adapt to changes in standards, systems and technologies. You are a team player who encourages others to collaborate. Work within the team to offer solutions when challenges are encountered. You will value the work/life balance that comes from working on the majority local projects, but be comfortable working overtime and working away from home, as required. Requirements include: White Card Cert III in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) – Transmission Overhead Minimum 18mths post-trade qualification experience SA Electrical License (or ability to get one) Current SA driver’s licence – Minimum ‘C’ Class, Unrestricted HR or above would be preferred Experience working safely using Live Line techniques and methods would be great, but is not essential (however, you must be willing to work towards Live Stick and Barehand qualifications) High Voltage Switching Operator Accreditation (Cat 20 & Cat 2) would be beneficial, but is not essential First Aid/ CPR/ LVR are desirable High Risk licenses that are of benefit include: WAH EWP DG/ RB/ RI/ RA CN/ C8 Forklift Tower Rescue About us At Enerven, we want our work to make a difference.
