Global Medics is partnering with the Mid North Coast Local Health District to recruit a Staff Specialist / Consultant Psychiatrist in an Acute Inpatient Ward. The hospital is a level five teaching hospital for medicine, nursing, and allied health and also acts as a hub for health research in the region. A 357-bed service, CHHC treats nearly 45,000 emergency presentations each year, including patients with a range of serious and life-threatening conditions such as burns and serious trauma. The hospital provides a broad range of general and specialist services including general medicine, general surgery, specialist medicine and surgical services, day surgery, planned and emergency operating theatre surgical services. The Hospital also has a coronary care unit (including coronary angiography unit), a large intensive care unit, obstetrics, paediatrics, a 24-hour Emergency Department, oncology, palliative care, stroke, acute renal dialysis, mental health services (including high dependency) and outpatient clinics. In addition to operating a large acute hospital we offer sub-acute services including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, a regional psychiatric service, specialist clinics, dialysis and a range of outreach services. Key Responsibilities for the role: Leads the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist psychiatric services to patients Promotes patient safety and quality of care. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the LHD Essential Selection Criteria: Coming from the UK - Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), awarded under any RCPsych curriculum from August 2007 to date following satisfactory completion of a General Medical Council or Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board approved specialty training program in psychiatry in the United Kingdom.
