Armadale Anaesthesia Nurse Practitioner Program Position Summary Armadale Anaesthesia is seeking autonomous Nurse Practitioners (NP) to support our team in delivering high-quality perioperative telehealth consultations. Armadale Anaesthesia is a leading Anaesthetic Group, comprising over 40 Specialist Anaesthetists providing services across Victoria. Our team supports a broad range of surgical specialties across major private hospitals and is committed to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in perioperative care. This position plays a vital role within our multidisciplinary team, with a primary focus on optimising patient assessment, preparation, and safety before surgery. It is a fully remote, telehealth-based role open to Nurse Practitioners across Australia—there is no requirement to be based in Victoria. Perioperative Nurse Practitioner endorsement is not required. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with anaesthetists and administrative staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care through a virtual care model. Key Responsibilities The Nurse Practitioners will provide Medicare-compliant, patient-centered consultations, including: Comprehensive Clinical Assessment and Screening Conduct patient screening focused on perioperative risk factors. Perform clinical assessments via telehealth platforms. Identify comorbidities or clinical concerns that may impact anaesthetic management. Care Coordination and Planning Arrange and interpret relevant perioperative investigations Document individualised management plans in collaboration with anaesthetists. Liaise with treating anaesthetists to facilitate optimisation where required. Preventive and Supportive Care Educate patients on perioperative preparation and recovery. Provide lifestyle and medication optimisation advice, including smoking cessation, fasting protocols, and perioperative medication adjustments. Promote evidence-based preventive health interventions. Documentation and Communication Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records. Communicate key findings and recommendations to the anaesthetist and administrative team. Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions as needed. Qualifications and Experience Endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgement. Familiarity with Medicare item numbers relevant to Nurse Practitioner consultations. Note: Perioperative endorsement is not required. Skills and Attributes Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks remotely. Committed to providing safe, patient-centered, evidence-based care. Comfortable with electronic medical records and telehealth platforms. Working Environment This is a flexible, remote role supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team.
