Due to significant recent expansion and continued growth, an exciting opportunity has opened for a full time Composite Structures engineer to maintain and develop the McDermott Aviation Rotary fleet at our Alabama base. This position requires exceptional technical knowledge and problem-solving skills as the environment is extremely dynamic and may require certain travel at short notice to complete tasks efficiently. McDermott’s service fire and emergency situations as well as weather affected contracts, therefore our team are extremely agile in their ability to keep the McDermott Fleet in the air. Purpose: As an Aircraft Component Technician, you will work in the overhaul, repair, modification, inspection, testing, and certification of aviation components of pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, electrical, environmental, and mechanical aircraft systems. Duties and Responsibilities: Tear Down and Cleaning of components and preparation of Inspection reports after performing measurements of sub components/parts, tests against acceptability criteria, determining parts that require replacement, outside testing and/or services. Reassembly of components according to applicable Component Maintenance Manual or shop procedures manual and conduct the applicable inspections, tests and functional tests. Reassembly of Components includes but is not limited to: painting, re-surfacing, soldering, wiring, repairs, adjustments and assembly operations. Verify of all paper work associated with the assembly and the traceability of parts used in the component assembly. Ensure that all data associated with measurements, testing, functional test and inspections is recorded on the work order or applicable accompanying documents. Participate or lead in the development of repair techniques or processes to enhance productivity.
