Role Overview: We’re looking for a B2B sales professional who understands startups, SMEs, or investor ecosystems. You’ll drive client acquisition across recruitment, partnerships, with potential involvement in international expansion down the track. You’ll be responsible for building and managing a high-performing pipeline to meet clear revenue goals, supported by our marketing, community, and delivery teams. Key Responsibilities: Sales & Business Development Proactively identify and close new business opportunities across recruitment and partnership services. Drive outbound sales efforts to build a strong pipeline, while occasionally qualifying inbound interest from founders, VCs, and SMEs. Lead discovery meetings, craft tailored proposals, negotiate terms, and secure new clients. Take ownership of your revenue targets with a focus on driving consistent monthly growth. Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement Develop strategic relationships with venture capital firms, accelerators, startup hubs, and community organisations. Source, pitch, and secure sponsors and collaborators for Startup&Angels events and memberships. Represent Australiance at industry events, pitch nights, and networking forums to generate leads and elevate brand visibility. Client Success & Growth Nurture long-term relationships with the clients you will be generating, to maximise retention and generate referrals. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across our Talent, Network, and Access service lines. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and 5-star client experience. Marketing Expansion & Strategic Input Engage companies looking to expand into or out of Australia, especially into France and Africa, through tailored outreach. Support business development in secondary markets like Melbourne and Brisbane via events and ecosystem connections. Share on-the-ground insights to help refine service offerings, improve client targeting, and enhance market positioning. Must Have: 2–5 years’ experience in B2B business development, sales or partnerships, ideally in professional services, consulting, or recruitment. Proven ability to build and manage a sales pipeline, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Strong knowledge of the startup and SME ecosystem; you’ve worked with or sold to founders, accelerators, VCs, or community enablers. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, suitable for professional client-facing and sales environments. Highly confident in pitching, negotiating and building relationships. Highly organised, self-driven and able to work independently while collaborating with a broader team. Comfortable attending and speaking at events, networking in fast-paced environments. Start date: end of June 2025 / early July 2025. Location : Sydney, NSW (Hybrid: 3 days in-office / 2 days WFH). Comfortable with occasional interstate travel for business development and networking opportunities. Nice to Have: Experience selling recruitment, events, community memberships or consulting services. Existing network in the Sydney startup or investor ecosystem. Exposure to international business (e.g. market-entry, cross-border expansion). Prior experience working in or with early-stage startups.
