The Role We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Audio Visual (AV) Technician to join our dynamic and expanding team. Responsibilities: The Audio Visual (AV) Technician will be responsible for the following tasks: Set up, install, and operate audio visual equipment for events, conferences, and productions. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of AV systems. Collaborate with clients, event coordinators, and production teams to understand and fulfill their audio visual requirements. Prepare and configure AV systems on-site after transit to ensure all equipment functions correctly and is tailored to the event’s technical requirements. Advise end users and event staff on the correct operating procedures of AV systems to avoid misuse and reduce system faults during live or recorded sessions. Interpret and resolve technical issues using knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, particularly when integrating complex sound, lighting, and visual control systems. Conduct equipment checks, ensuring everything is in working order prior to events. Assist with the transportation and handling of AV equipment. Provide technical support during events, troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Maintain detailed service records and conduct preventative maintenance routines in accordance with manufacturer specifications and DF Productions’ internal protocols. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the AV industry. Requirements of the Candidate Successful applicants must have: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3), or a Minimum of 5 years of experience as an AV Technician or similar role in lieu of the formal qualification. Strong knowledge of audio visual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and video equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently. Well organised, strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and event organizers. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to support event schedules. Reliable and well presented.
