Job Description Project Manager Your New Opportunity: As a result of growth we have a new opportunity to support the successful delivery of our programs across the business. We are currently seeking an energetic and customer focussed individual as a Projects and Business Development Manager for current and future Defence projects, including a Key Account Manager Role experience. About You: You will have a proven project and technical background at a management level from either the marine, mining, defence or relevant equipment manufacturing/distribution industries. Wide business and technical experience with minimum 5 years is highly preferable. Customer relationship management and technical proficiency are essential skills required to be successful in this role. You will also have well developed skills in managing change, contract management, project management and customer liaison to achieve business growth. Your skills will include: Relevant qualifications, with Supervisory or Management experience highly desirable or Engineering Degree and experience in the mining, marine or defence industry; Knowledge of the heavy diesel engine industry and work practices and integration into various applications; Previous customer facing/sales and key account management experience would be highly desirable; Advanced verbal and written communication skills; Ability to interact in a multi team environment and function well in this environment. Responsibilities will include: Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with customer and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) personnel; Actively promote Penske Australia supported parts, service products and service options in the Defence segment; Actively promote Penske Australia aftermarket Support and Service network capability for OEM product lines; Identify medium and long term development opportunities within the Defence market for support of goods and services and growth of portfolios within area of responsibility; Manage relationships with key Defence customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers and Prime Contractors for the acquisition and through life support of equipment; Identify and promote medium and long term developments in Defence market sector for; Preparation and assistance of responses to Defence/Defence Prime Contractor tender requests; Ability to undertake regular Interstate and some international travel will be required.
