This is a 282-bed facility providing the highest standard of clinical and patient care to the diverse communities of the region. The hospital is currently undergoing a $384.2 million redevelopment that will deliver a bigger emergency department, more operating theatres, a new paediatric unit, an extra 22 inpatient beds, and dedicated areas for pathology services and dialysis. As Consultant Emergency Medicine, you will contribute to the overall function and high standards for clinical excellence in a fast-paced and busy Emergency Department. Working closely with the Emergency Medicine Clinical Director, you will provide comprehensive specialist services to a varied and often challenging casemix, ensuring a continuous promotion of collaboration and patient-centred care. You will assist in the ongoing monitoring and review of the trauma system and trauma response of the hospital, and be involved in developing and implementing relevant policies and procedures, ongoing Quality Improvement, and Clinical Risk Management within the department. You will have the opportunity to facilitate and participate in the training and education of undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as opportunities for your own continued professional development.
