The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an engaging Senior Compliance Manager to join the Risk team in Melbourne. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, this inaugural position reports to the Executive Director - Risk, and will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing oversight of the Organisation’s compliance management and policy framework, ensuring alignment with the enterprise risk management framework. The role is a Line 2 function and offers plenty of scope for development and executive stakeholder engagement. The role will be supported by an Enterprise Risk Analyst. The Responsibilities Provide support to Executive Leadership Team and the business on compliance obligations and the policy framework. Develop and implement a consistent approach to ongoing controls self-assessment and assurance to ensure continuing compliance with obligations and policies. Develop and implement a policy governance framework. Review and update existing policies in accordance with the framework in collaboration with the business. Coach policy owners on their individual responsibilities and provide clear and practical advice on compliance matters that enable business objectives. Design, develop and implement a compliance management framework and be responsible for ongoing maintenance of the framework. Develop and be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the end-to-end compliance obligations register. Positively work with stakeholders at all levels of the business, balancing diverse agendas to optimise outcomes. Evaluate, recommend and lead the implementation of a governance and risk compliance (GRC) system, acting as the central point of contact and subject matter expert on the platform. Manage issues and breach reporting. Develop and deliver compliance reporting for management committees and the Board as required. Key skills required: The ideal candidate will have: Minimum 7 years’ experience in a senior compliance role, preferably in the Australian financial services industry. Strong experience executing compliance frameworks, risk reviews and compliance monitoring programs, with the ability to engage, influence and build strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders. Ability to translate compliance requirements into practical application that aligns with business objectives Experience with implementing governance and risk compliance (GRC) systems advantageous.
