The key duties of the position include The Role EL 1 Deputy Director Industry Policy performs a leadership role in an integrated environment and executes multifaceted Defence industry policy work including drafting of Policy documents. Your work will help build a sovereign defence industrial base. The successful candidate will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to provide policy advice. They will be responsible for developing, implementing, complying with and reviewing policies, and will engage in research and problem-solving issues management. A major responsibility is working collaboratively with internal, external stakeholders and subject matter experts to facilitate the achievement of Defence outcomes. About our Team The Industry Engagement Division (IE Div) supports Defence delivery on the Government's policy direction to equip and sustain the ADF. IE Div develops and delivers initiatives that are designed to develop a deeper and broader sovereign industrial base while making Defence a stronger client. Industry Policy Directorate embedded in the Policy, Events and International Programs Branch of IE Div leads the development and implementation of the Defence Industry Development Strategy, working across the Department to support Capability and Delivery Managers to implement the Government's policy direction. The Industry Policy Directorate works with all Groups and Services to deliver on the Government's direction to develop the Sovereign Defence Industrial Base required to support Defence capability. The Directorate also delivers and manages a number of strategic engagements with industry peak bodies, state and territory governments.
