The key duties of the position include The Role Industry Policy Directorate within the Industry Engagement Division is looking for APS 6 Industry Policy and Program Officers to contribute to the Department of Defence's key industry policy. The successful candidates will: Perform complex industry policy and program activities to deliver Defence industry policy initiatives to help build and sustain Australia's sovereign industrial base. Coordinate and manage the development and implementation of policies and associated programs to promote Defence industry participation in domestic and international programs consistent with Defence objectives. Develop submissions, briefs and reports and provide advice on Defence industry issues. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in relation to Defence industry policies and programs. Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participates in team work and group activities. Interpret and analyse policies and programs to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and procedures. Resolve complex issues associated with managing Defence industry policies and programs. About our Team Industry Engagement Division (IE Div) supports Defence delivery on the Government's policy direction, namely the National Defence Strategy and the Defence Industry Development Strategy, to equip and sustain the ADF. IE Div develops and delivers initiatives that are designed to develop a stronger sovereign industrial base while making Defence a stronger client. Industry Policy Directorate embedded in the Policy, Events and International Programs Branch of IE Div leads the development and implementation of the Defence Industry Development Strategy, working across the Department to support Capability and Delivery Managers to implement the Government's policy direction. The Industry Policy Directorate works with all Groups and Services to deliver on the Government's direction to develop the Sovereign Defence Industrial Base required to support Defence capability. The Directorate also delivers and manages a number of strategic engagements with industry peak bodies, state and territory governments.
