Our client has engaged Michael Page to recruit for a Senior Accountant to join this growing Funds Management & Investment firm in Melbourne's CBD. The role will be widely scoped covering accounting, budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis, potential M&A and play a genuine role in the strategic and commercial direction of the company. Client Details Our client is a Investments & Funds Management firm with a variety of investments across entertainment, property & local and international equities. The organisation has experienced a rapid trajectory of growth over the course of the last few years and continues to expand through organic growth & potential acquisitions. Description The role will include but not be limited to: Manage monthly, quarterly and annual reports, with commentary regarding key metrics Assist in preparing financial statements and audits in compliance with GAAP or relevant standards Assist with tax filing and statutory obligations per local regulations and deadlines Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for business decisions Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis for decision-making Contribute to ERP system enhancements through automation and software upgrades Assist with payroll and employee-related matters as needed Support the Head of Finance as required (ad hoc projects, etc) Liaise with internal teams (Investments and Treasury) Profile The successful applicant will either be directly from a Big-4 or mid-tier within audit or business services looking to step into commercial or alternatively someone who has already stepped out of a Chartered environment and worked within commerce who has a passion for this space. The ideal candidate will be intelligent, well-presented and communicated, have knowledge and/or a high level of interest in the Financial Services Sphere with a growth mindset, hands-on nature and ability to adapt and think outside the box. The successful candidate will carry a CA or equivalent qualification and a relevant tertiary degree qualification.
