Beyond Blue is seeking a dynamic Communications Manager to lead our internal and external communications, driving engagement and awareness in line with our 2023 Strategy. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure our staff are informed and connected while shaping external communications and media strategies that engage the wider community. You'll play a key part in delivering Beyond Blue’s five strategic goals—Understanding, Supporting, Connecting, Leading, and Integrity—through innovative and effective communication approaches that help Australians improve their mental health, get well, and stay well. The role As part for the Communications Manager role, you will: Develop and implement strategic communications and media plans, aligning messaging with Beyond Blue’s 2023 Strategy. Lead a communications team, overseeing the execution of planned activities, media inquiries, and strategic opportunities. Manage key communication initiatives, including webinars, podcasts, reports, and corporate documents to enhance engagement. Shape organisational positioning and thought leadership, fostering strong relationships with the media and internal stakeholders. Drive internal communications, ensuring impactful, consistent messaging that informs and engages staff. Provide expert guidance on communications, supporting leadership and strategic initiatives through high-quality content. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate is expected to be contactable outside of their ordinary working hours and to work additional hours as reasonably necessary from time to time. Desired Skills and Experience About you To be successful you will have: Tertiary degree in journalism, communications, media, PR, or related field. Significant experience in a similar role and leading teams to deliver communications strategies. Experience budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and operational planning. Demonstrate the ability to develop and execute internal and external communications plans. Exposure to driving mutually beneficial outcomes and managing complex relationships with the media and internal stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication, simplifying complex concepts effectively.
