Letâs talk about the team The primary role of the Software Engineering function within the Global Data Platformâs Database Engineering team is to create specifications and designs for new products or improvements and enhancements to existing products. They work closely with customers, stakeholders, and other developers to understand and define customer needs in these designs. They ensure features are aligned to project deadlines. Letâs talk about the role We are seeking a passionate and skilled engineer to contribute to the design, development, implementation, and deployment of cloud-based Database Services solutionsâprimarily focused on our flagship product, DBX. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate on the full lifecycle of Database Services cloud solutions, with a focus on DBX. Design, develop, and maintain internal developer portals using Backstage, including custom plugin development, catalog configuration, and integrations with cloud-native tools and services (e.g., AWS). Provide Tier 2 application support, including incident and change management, monitoring, observability, and ongoing operational support. Lead and document root cause analyses (RCA) in alignment with our Incident Management Response Guidelines. Participate in code reviews, adhering to secure coding standards and best practices. Write clean, well-commented, and maintainable code, along with comprehensive systems documentation. Emphasize automated testingâunit, integration, and end-to-end functional testsâwith encouragement to leverage AI tools for efficiency. Ensure consistency and global parity across processes, systems, and products within the Database Engineering scope. Foster strong internal relationships to facilitate effective information exchange Letâs talk about you This role is open to multiple levels of experience. New graduates (Associate) are welcome, as are engineers with more experience up to a strong Intermediate (Advanced Professional). Intermediate levels are expected to have 3-5 yearsâ experience with the qualifications listed Required: Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience. Experience developing with IaC tools, preferably Terraform. Experience using AWS Cloud and AWS Services like EKS, Lambda, S3, EC2. Experience using Git, Confluence, and JIRA and adhere to SCRUM. Experience developing in Backstage, Python, FastAPI, React, Typescript. Experience with NoSql databases preferably MongoDB. Preferred: Masters Degree. Strong understanding of using AI in software engineering and testing. Practical experience using or developing for MongoDB databases. Experience with ITSM practices. Experience with test-driven development (TDD). Experience with regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
