Who we are looking for Join us as a Treatment Operations Officer where you will learn and maintain a range of processes and systems that enable the continual delivery of high quality water and sewerage services to the communities in our region. This is an ongoing, full-time position based in Portland, with a salary of $70,068 to $73,805 p.a. plus superannuation. You'll be supported by a great team, complete a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and have access to attractive flexibility options. Job Description What you'll be doing On a day-to-day basis, you'll be: Monitoring the operation and maintenance of water supply and sewage treatment facilities and other assets across a large service area Operating and maintaining chemical dosing systems. Trouble-shooting and problem-solving plant operations using remote SCADA and onsite systems. Completing and maintaining operational record-keeping systems. Completing work orders within our computerised work management systems. Conducting field-based work, and some indoor work at various locations. Ensuring our customers receive reliable and dependable services. Working in a team to maintain a 24/7 service that includes a rostered on call rotation. Desired Skills and Experience What you’ll bring We're looking for someone with An interest in the operation of water and sewage treatment facilities. A strong commitment to safety in the workplace. The ability to apply your skills and previous experience to the role. Energy, enthusiasm and a genuine curiosity to learn and develop. The ability to operate and monitor a process or plant and equipment. Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and interpret malfunctions in facilities, systems and processes or plant. Proficiency in applying relevant standard procedures and practices. Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. You may have a trade, tertiary qualification or prior experience in the water or sewage treatment field, or relevant practical experience in another industry.
