We are looking for a Purchasing Officer who will be responsible for sourcing, ordering and ensuring the availability of materials to meet manufacturing demands. The ideal candidate will be organised, a natural problem solver, possess exceptional Excel skills, and be adaptable within a dynamic environment. Hours are Monday to Thursday, 5am to 1:30pm and Friday, 5am to 11:30am. Able to work on Public Holidays if required. Liaising with the Inventory Controller and utilising stock data to determine requirements for the manufacturing departments on a daily schedule. Create requirement purchase plan that ensures a smooth flow of materials, taking the supplier lead times into account. Build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers and internal customers. Working with the Technical / Quality team to implement improvements throughout the purchasing & supply chain processes Produce accurate and timely paperwork flow with a sound attention to detail Maintaining and utilising excel documents for ordering /planning purposes Ensuring invoices and delivery documents are accurately attached and providing accurate reports for Accounts Payable Promptly report any supplier-related issues to the procurement team and offer constructive feedback as needed About you: Experience in a similar role or within the warehouse/inventory industry Strong knowledge of Excel and associated Microsoft programs Intermediate or advanced knowledge in Excel would be highly regarded Basic knowledge of purchasing processes or willingness to learn Solid numerical skills and recognising number patterns and connections High attention to detail and can demonstrate ability to learn new processes quickly Capable of working in a high-pressure environment Ability to be adaptable and respond quickly to changing needs in a demanding environment Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
