The company: Our client, a global business with a strong footprint across ANZ, is investing in the development of its procurement function and seeking an experienced Indirect Category Manager to join the team in Melbourne. With a mix of global reach and regional autonomy, the business offers an exciting platform for a procurement professional to take ownership of indirect spend and help shape the direction of procurement activity across Australia and New Zealand. This role will suit someone commercially minded, confident in engaging cross-functional stakeholders, and capable of driving both local and regional sourcing strategies across a broad indirect portfolio. The role: Working closely with local leadership and global procurement, this position will manage a range of indirect procurement categories. You’ll lead sourcing activity, act as the main point of contact for suppliers across ANZ, and help implement group strategies across the region. Key responsibilities include: Lead end-to-end sourcing activity across indirect categories including services, marketing, IT, travel, professional services, and others Act as the key regional contact for group procurement initiatives, working closely with global category leads Manage regional supplier relationships and performance, including negotiation and contract execution Support the rollout of global agreements and ensure local compliance Develop regional category strategies, identifying opportunities for improved cost, service, and innovation Champion procurement systems and tools, supporting the ongoing adoption of P2P processes Engage and influence stakeholders to ensure procurement is embedded early in the decision-making process What you will need: 5 years experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect categories Proven ability to lead sourcing activity and negotiate supplier terms Strong commercial acumen with the ability to work in both strategic and hands-on capacities Confident engaging senior stakeholders and working in a regional or matrixed structure Tertiary qualifications in business, supply chain or a related field preferred Salary: Up to $150,000 superannuation (dependent on experience) What’s on offer: This is a great opportunity to join a business with a global brand and regional responsibility.
