THE COMPANY Family owned and operated since 1958, Vertikote Group is one of the largest and most experienced powder coating & industrial paint operators in Australia. With multiple production lines operating powder coating and liquid paint systems, Vertikote is the leading “one-stop shop” for all architectural, industrial and domestic applications. As the accredited coater of choice for our customers, this important role is responsible for the performance of all factory production at our Chipping Norton (NSW) facility to produce quality work including responsibility for: Safety & Environment Performance and supervision of workers Controlling work in progress, Implementation of efficient work practices to optimise factory performance Manage chemical pre-treatment systems Operating plant and equipment settings Managing consumables and packing THE ROLE To undertake “hands on” production duties as allocated by Factory Manager including supervision of all work in progress, employees, work practices and performance, plant and equipment settings, consumables and strapping/ packing in a safe and efficient manner. The Production Supervisor must ensure all jobs processed are checked and have correct documentation, exceed minimum quality standards and are recorded. Lead the production team to ensure zero lost-time injuries (LTI). Ensure team members work safely, report hazards, and address them promptly. Ensure efficient use of labour in all production areas (loading, pre-treatment, painting, unloading, packing). Request additional labour from the Operations Manager if needed. Follow the approved production schedule and coordinate job completion. Regularly check plant and equipment to ensure they meet operating standards (e.g., conveyor speed, oven temperatures). Report issues that affect production. Monitor team performance and attendance. Report issues to the Factory Manager and help team members improve. Attend production meetings to discuss performance, issues, and job status, keeping records for analysis. Continuously work on improving both personal and team performance.
