About the Role We are looking for multiple detail-oriented Catering Assistants to join our busy catering team at the Airport. If you have strong food preparation skills, a good eye for presentation, and can thrive in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, this could be the role for you. It is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in high-volume food production and be part of a supportive, well-run kitchen Your Responsibilities As a Catering Assistant, your main tasks will include: Prepare fresh ingredients, chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning to exact airline specifications Assemble meals or packs with a focus on accuracy and presentation Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards at all times Keep your workspace clean, organised, and efficient Support the Chefs and Kitchen team to meet daily production targets Assist with stock rotation and minimising food waste. The Experience Required To be successful in this role, you will need: Previous experience in a Catering Attendant role. Minimum of 18 months to 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen with high volume food preparation skills. Prefer a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery but not essential. Solid skills in cutting and portioning ingredients efficiently. Experience using basic tools like knives, peelers, scoops, and trolleys during food prep. Ability to work in cold food prep environments for extended periods. Familiar with food hygiene practices such as glove use, hand washing, and avoiding cross-contamination. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP certification is a plus). Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume commercial kitchen. Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills. Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Other Requirements Willingness to complete a Police check, Pre-employment medical, and Drug & alcohol test as required by client . Flexibility in working on a 24/7 roster with a 5-day shift pattern. Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery. Reliable transport to get to the airport at all hours, including early morning shifts starting from 4:00am. Who Are We?
