The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD. Alexandria Station, NT Alexandria Station is located on the Barkly Tableland in the Northern Territory and is NAPCo's largest and oldest property acquired in 1877. Home to NAPCO's Alexandria composite stud. The Role Join Alexandria Station as a Station cook offside supporting the Station Cook in providing tasty home-style meals. For this position, you will need to be organised, friendly, and most importantly, love cooking! A rare opportunity to experience life on an iconic Australian cattle station whilst positively impacting our crew providing good nutritious meals. Day to day duties include: Support in cooking tasty, nutritious, home-style meals for approx 40 station employees and guests on occasion Assist with menu planning Assist with preparing the grocery list to order and maintain adequate supplies Ensuring the kitchen, dining room and food storage areas are kept clean and tidy Cleaning and maintaining kitchen utensils and cooking equipment in good order Cleaning the kitchen and dining areas as required Ideally the successful candidate will : Have experience in a similar role, cooking for live-in groups and providing meals to schedule Have a passion for cooking Be a self-starter that has excellent time management and organisation skills Have an understanding of food hygiene practices Have the ability to work in a safe manner Enjoy the unique lifestyle a remote cattle station offers Be motivated, show enthusiasm and have a great attitude towards what you do!
