The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD. Alexandria Station Alexandria Station is located on the Barkly Tableland in the Northern Territory and is NAPCo's oldest property acquired in 1877. Alexandria spans just over 1 million hectares and is home to NAPCo’s Alexandria composite stud. The Role Reporting to the Station Manager, the Workshop Supervisor leads the team responsible for the care and maintenance of the maintenance workshop, heavy vehicles and machinery operations across the station. As well as the safe transportation of livestock in oversize trucks / road trains ensuring the health and welfare of our animals. Day to Day duties include: Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop and the operational support staff i.e. Mechanic, Heavy vehicle operators and Machinery operators Deliver to the operational plan for routine inspection and maintenance of vehicles, plant and other equipment. Operate heavy vehicles including, but not limited to, a Semi-Trailer, B-Double or Road Train transporting livestock on property and/or across the NAPCo supply chain. Machinery operations for property maintenance Maintains machinery in good working order Undertakes mechanical prestart and general maintenance Completing paperwork accurately and maintaining good knowledge of the chain of responsibility and road transport legislation Undertaking varied station tasks or assisting the crew when needed with adhoc general station duties. Demonstrate strong safety leadership building a positive team culture The successful candidate will: Will have a mechanical trade qualification or have sound mechanical knowledge and equivalent experience. Must hold a MC truck license, with experience transporting livestock, ideally cattle.
