About the Role This hands-on role plays a crucial part in maintaining the plumbing infrastructure of a high-demand healthcare environment. You will be responsible for ensuring all reactive and planned maintenance activities related to plumbing systems, equipment, and plant facilities are carried out efficiently and in accordance with compliance regulations. This is a diverse role that blends practical technical skills with process management to support the smooth operation of health services around the clock. Key Responsibilities Conduct reactive and scheduled maintenance on plumbing and hydraulic systems Service and test thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs), backflow prevention devices, and related systems Perform inspections, diagnostics, and minor installations for plumbing-related infrastructure Liaise with internal stakeholders to coordinate urgent repairs and minimise service disruption Participate in after-hours emergency response and maintenance duties as required Maintain workshop equipment, stock levels, and parts inventory in an organised manner Adhere to WHS guidelines and ensure all safety protocols and PPE standards are upheld Utilise Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for logging and updating work tasks Assist contractors with inspections, commissioning and compliance reporting Contribute to the development of planned maintenance schedules in line with regulatory standards About You Current Plumber's licence or trade qualification with specialisation in Gas Fitting, Drainer, TMV or Backflow Prevention Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training; additional accredited hours highly regarded Demonstrated experience in large-scale facility or campus plumbing systems Competency using Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets and asset management software Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet time-sensitive deadlines Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external contractors Sound knowledge of WHS standards, relevant Australian Standards, and codes of practice Must hold a valid National Police Check Permanent Resident, Australian Citizen or long-term work visa holders only; sponsorship not available Application Process Important: We prioritise candidates that touch base before any job search.
