About the team The Integrity Branch is an exciting, fast-paced area that is a key operational function of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR). The Branch is responsible for the provision and development of protective security, probity, fraud and corruption, risk and integrity strategy. The Security Strategy and Response team plays a leading role in the lifecycle of policies, procedures and practices in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) to ensure compliance and safeguard the departments people, information and assets. The team also has responsibility for information security across the department, the department’s Communications Intelligence Security function and security investigations. The opportunity This position will have the opportunity to help shape the future of DISR’s security maturity through: Assisting in the development and review of DISR’s protective security strategies, policies and procedures in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Provide input to the security risk context within the DISR environment. Development of security awareness training uplift activities in support of the protective security needs of the department, including briefings. Assist and lead with security investigations, providing analysis and recommendations. Identify and evaluate emerging security risks within the department’s operating environment, considering internal and external threats. Provide advice to security queries, often complex in nature. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment with security best practice. Assist in the coordination of the department’s PSPF Self-Assessment, reportable to the Department of Home Affairs. What’s in it for you? Key capabilities and skills include: Understanding of the PSPF, security governance, risk management and incident response Experience in governance, development of policies and ensuring organisational compliance Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and advise senior staff and external agencies on security matters. Experience in Government Investigations, hold a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or are willing to obtain. Eligibility This position requires a minimum NV1 security clearance, with a willingness to upgrade to NV2. The successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
