About the Role Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Accounting Manager will lead and manage the financial accounting team with deliverables in financial control & compliance, financial reporting, payroll, tax as well as driving financial accounting process efficiency and improvements. A key component of the role will require working collaboratively with key stakeholders in providing financial support and technical advice as well as driving simplification of systems and processes. The responsibility areas include daily operations of the financial accounting team (2 x direct reports), lead the month and year end closing activities, own and manage the chart of accounts and reporting structure and own integrity of all the GL accounts. You will work closely with the CFO, FP&A Manager and Finance Business Partner in producing financial commentary, risks, and opportunities for financial reporting. Other responsibility areas are overseeing the yearly audit with external auditors, running monthly payroll, overseeing AP function, supplier payments, billings, expense claims and cash management. The role will have a hybrid and semi-structured work approach, providing opportunities to work at home and opportunities to collaborate with your immediate team and the wider business at our office in St Kilda Road, with spectacular views over the bay. Occasional travel to sites around Australia is also required and beneficial for relationship building and understanding our operations. About You Possessing a relevant tertiary degree (Bachelor of Accounting or Business/Commerce) and CPA/CA qualification, you will bring high level technical accounting knowledge coupled with proven financial accounting experience. Your strengths will lie in leadership skills, building and mentoring the team in a customer focussed mentality and possess confidence, communication skills and credibility to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organisation. You will be highly organised, meeting company deadlines, natural attention to detail, have a strong bias for action, problem solving and analytical skills, and be comfortable operating in a small, dynamic team with drive and determination to see things through to completion.
