This leadership role is pivotal in shaping and executing the strategic direction of the Council’s IT capabilities. Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Performance and leading a multidisciplinary team, this position will oversee the delivery of ICT services, information management, GIS operations, and digital transformation initiatives that drive operational excellence, enhance service delivery and improve community outcom es. Leading the design and implementation of Council’s ICT strategies, the role is responsible for fostering a customer-centric culture, and managing complex, cross-functional projects from conception through to completion. Working collaboratively across various levels of Council, the role will act as a trusted advisor to executive and senior leadership, helping to build internal trust, momentum, and organisational confidence in the transformation agenda and assisting in guiding future investment in technology and business systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for the governance of Council’s data management, ICT security, system development, and compliance with regulatory obligations such as the Records Management Act. Building strong partnerships with vendors, government agencies, and regional councils will be essential, as will championing continuous improvement and innovation across the organisat ion. The successful candidate will bring significant experience in leading IT operations and business transformation projects, ideally within local government or a similarly regulated, complex environment. Proven ability to deliver major digital projects, manage diverse teams, navigate financial limitations and drive cultural change to achieve a high-performance, customer-focused environ ment.
