Ultrablack Seedstock Manager Location: Macintyre Station Inverell Palgrove is a highly regarded Australian seedstock and commercial cattle business with a proud history spanning over 50 years. Known for our commitment to quality genetics and innovative practices, we are seeking a dedicated Seedstock Manager to lead the next chapter of our Ultrablack program. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled livestock professional with a strong background in stud operations—preferably with black cattle—and a passion for pasture management, breeding and team leadership. About the Role The Seedstock Manager is responsible for leading and optimising livestock operations to ensure the ongoing success of Palgrove’s Ultrablack seedstock program. This role focuses on three key areas: 1. Genetics and Breeding – Oversee and manage breeding programs, including AI, ET, and natural joining, to enhance genetics, maximise productivity and maintain Palgrove’s reputation for being a leader in the Ultrablack breed. 2. Livestock Operations – Manage all aspects of livestock handling and quality control, including drafting, culling, branding, weaning and animal health treatments, to optimise performance and ensure the production of high-quality seedstock. 3. Team Development – Mentor, train, and develop Seedstock team members to build strong seedstock knowledge and technical capabilities, fostering a high-performing and knowledgeable workforce. The Seedstock Manager plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, genetic progress and sustainable land management while developing a skilled and engaged team. Proven experience in stud cattle operations, ideally with black genetics (Ultrablack, Brangus, Angus or similar) ? Strong understanding of pasture management, breeding programs, and animal health ? Confident and supportive leader with a passion for mentoring others ? High level of initiative and an eye for continuous improvement ?
