As a Process Control Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, optimisation, and maintenance of control systems that support the safe and efficient operation of boiler and turbine systems. You’ll work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive performance improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Location: Brisbane CBD, QLD (with regular site travel to Power Stations) Full-Time / Permanent Attractive Remuneration Career Growth Opportunities LI-Hybrid Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and optimise control strategies for boiler and balance-of-plant systems Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimise downtime and improve reliability Lead and support DCS/PLC upgrades, tuning, and configuration (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Emerson) Collaborate with plant engineers and operators to improve thermal efficiency and combustion performance Conduct root cause analysis of control-related incidents and implement corrective actions Ensure compliance with process safety and environmental regulations Provide technical leadership during plant outages, commissioning, and testing Qualifications What We’re Looking For Degree in Electrical, Control Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline). RPEQ certified Minimum 8 years’ experience in process control engineering within power generation or heavy industry Strong knowledge of boiler operations, combustion control, and steam cycle dynamics Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC systems, instrumentation, and control loop tuning Familiarity with alarm management, control narratives, and functional safety (SIL) Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
