Duties and responsibilities: As a Legal Secretary you must have exceptional time management skills and the ability to multi-task. Your role is to ensure provide essential high-quality legal admin support within a legal Your main tasks are, but not limited to: Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence including contracts, court forms, submissions, and case-related documentation. Maintaining, organising, and managing legal files and case records, ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance. Assisting Legal Practitioners in preparing briefs, court documents, affidavits, and indexes for hearings before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Federal Circuit and Family Court, and other legal bodies. Conducting legal research and compiling precedents, case law references, and relevant legislation for active cases and internal legal use. Drafting letters, client updates, and responses on behalf of legal staff using appropriate legal language and formatting. Coordinating and scheduling court dates, client consultations, and internal meetings for Legal Professionals and Migration Agents. Tracking compliance and licensing requirements relevant to legal staff, such as practicing certificates, RMAs licenses, and Law Society registrations. Assisting with the review, formatting, and administrative processing of service contracts, supplier agreements, and vendor documentation under supervision. Liaising with external service providers such as insurers, licensing bodies, and outsourced contractors to assist with routine documentation and compliance queries. Managing office supplies and administrative requests, including document collation, scanning, filing, and preparing purchase orders with approval from management. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Experience: Tertiary qualification in related or co-related fields. Previous working experience within a law office environment.
