About the role This Sports Officer is responsible for the coordination, implementation and evaluation of sport and recreational life across university campuses to enhance and maximise student engagement and experiences. The position reports to the Nation al Manager, Student Life. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver on-campus, online, and external sports programs. Build and maintain relationships with sporting organisations and external partners to secure resources. Manage the Notre Dame Elite Athlete Program, providing support for student-athletes and liaising with faculties. Organise student teams for UniSport Australia competitions, overseeing recruitment, coordination, and event logistics. Lead and mentor a team of student employees, delegating tasks and supporting professional growth. Collaborate with Student Life and internal teams to develop and promote sports, fitness, and wellbeing initiatives. Maintain accurate records of student participation to support planning, reporting, and program evaluation. Manage the annual sports program budget to ensure effective use of resources. Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase student engagement in sports programs. Complete required training and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures. Qualifications, skills & experience Possession of a degree qualifications, with relevant work experience in a similar role and/or a tertiary qualification with extensive relevant work experience. Demonstrated experience in coordinating sports programs, with current knowledge or the capacity to acquire knowledge of university sporting and administration principles. Performs under general direction, with demonstrated organisational skills and ability to exercise initiative and judgment as appropriate, and work in a flexible and dynamic environment with competing priorities. Sound interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to work productively and collaborate across multidisciplinary team environments both and with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to demonstrate and provide professional specialised expertise, with ability to effectively understand and apply policies, procedures and standards. Effective time management and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, solve problems, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
