POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Finance Manager has responsibility for the end-to-end bookkeeping and financial operations of the group, including compliance tasks, payroll, light CFO responsibilities and oversight of internal revenue processes. The successful candidate will work closely with our Managing Director and Client Service team, taking ownership of financial workflows and bringing structure to our internal finance function. Key responsibilities of the role include: • Bookkeeping o Bank feed reconciliation (daily) o Supplier invoice processing and scheduling payments o Approving Airwallex expenses and matching to correct accounts o Managing team member reimbursements and ensuring documentation compliance o Ensuring coding accuracy and record integrity in Xero • Payroll & Employee Obligations o End-to-end payroll processing for Australian and overseas team members o PAYG withholding and superannuation compliance o Maintain payroll records and leave balances o Ensure timely payment of payroll tax (e.g. NSW, SA registrations and lodgements) o Prepare and lodge Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports o Manage workers compensation and WorkCover policy renewals and registrations • Compliance & Reporting o Prepare and submit BAS/IAS returns o Ensure all ATO and statutory deadlines are met o Support with external accountant queries and year-end file preparation • Revenue Operations o Review and approve monthly recurring invoices o Monitor client billing cycles and update product/service pricing in Xero o Maintain revenue records and client charge-out rates o Track resident director and corporate service renewals and ensure invoicing is up to date • Light CFO Duties o Support cashflow monitoring and forecasting o Prepare internal financial reports and dashboards o Identify process improvement opportunities across finance o Liaise with leadership to support financial decision-making • Other duties as required Requirements SKILLS & EXPERIENCE The candidate is required to possess the ability to conduct themselves professionally within the workplace: • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or finance manager role • Proven experience in payroll processing and payroll tax compliance • Solid knowledge of Xero and a strong grasp of day-to-day accounting workflows • Comfortable with ATO compliance including BAS, IAS and STP obligations • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-manage tasks and priorities • Excellent communication and documentation skills • Proactive approach with a problem solving mindset SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE Candidates with experience in the below are of benefit but not essential: • Xero • ATO Portal • MS Office (particularly Excel) Benefits OUR VALUES All team members at ABN Australia are expected to consistently demonstrate our core values in the performance on their role: Responsive by Nature – we always respond to customers within a few hours Committed to Excellence – we are committed to excellence in everything we do Continuously Improving – we recognise opportunities and strive to keep improving Collaborative and Communicative – We work together and communicate openly to ensure all stakeholders are kept informed
