Job Description About the role Join Sydney Airport as a Procurement Specialist and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of Australia’s most important infrastructure hubs. This is a unique opportunity to develop and deliver procurement strategies across IT projects within our Planning and Delivery function. Working alongside senior leadership, delivery teams, and business partners, you’ll help drive value, manage risk, and ensure quality outcomes across a wide range of complex and high-impact projects. In this role, you’ll be more than just a procurement expert — you’ll be a key enabler of best practice across the organisation. You’ll deliver end-to-end procurement strategies, build capability across teams, and ensure strong governance frameworks are in place. In this role you will have the opportunity to Develop and deliver effective procurement strategies that align with organisational goals and support successful project outcomes. Support all stages of the procurement lifecycle, including planning, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award. Provide expert advice on commercial and contract matters, helping resolve supplier issues and supporting strong contract performance. Build and maintain a capable supplier base to ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective delivery across a range of IT projects. Analyse spend and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and proactively manage procurement risks. Drive continuous improvement by enhancing procurement processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency and ensure good governance. About you Proven experience in procurement, delivering successful outcomes while developing and upskilling stakeholders and suppliers. At least 5 years of procurement experience, including managing operational spend projects and service-based contracts, ideally within IT. A relevant bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to create and manage effective procurement strategies. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels. Advanced negotiation skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations while maintaining strong relationships.
