The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. About the RoleThe Family Violence Registrar contributes to the Court's response to family violence, working alongside the judiciary, court registrars, support workers, police, legal services and other support services to effectively manage cases involving victims and perpetrators of family violence. In this critical role, you will operate in a complex, demanding and sensitive environment and will contribute to: • building relationships with key stakeholders, establishes and maintains links with community services and agencies in their local area, promotes information sharing amongst agencies and makes appropriate referrals. • performing a range of administrative, statutory and quasi-judicial powers as a Registrar in accordance with the Magistrate' Court Act 1989 and other relevant Acts, rules and regulations.• coordinating cases within the family violence and intervention order jurisdiction, including family violence related criminal matters. The role may be performed in a range of jurisdictional contexts, including Civil, Criminal, Family Violence, VOCAT, Diversion, as well as the Children's and Coroner's Courts and other jurisdictions (VCAT,County and Supreme Courts) as required. About YouYou will be a highly effective communicator (both verbal and written) and possess solid understanding of the Court's protocols and procedures.
