Full-time 2 years fixed term, located at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Exciting opportunity for a funded postdoctoral researcher position at The University of Sydney Base Salary Level A $105,314 p.a. - $112,690 p.a. 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Institute for Musculoskeletal Health is part of the University of Sydney's School of Public Health and Sydney Musculoskeletal Health flagship centre and is based at the Sydney Local Health District. Our focus is the promotion of musculoskeletal health and physical activity across the lifespan. Our vision is for better musculoskeletal health through healthy lifestyles and equitable access to patient-centred, evidence-based, and cost-effective health services. We have active collaborations with a wide range of multidisciplinary clinicians, researchers, and policy makers in Australia and internationally. Our research is divided into three main themes: back pain and musculoskeletal conditions; physical activity, ageing and disability; and evidence and equity. The incumbent will be responsible for providing research assistance across the physical activity, ageing and disability themes. The successful applicant will be working on a trial testing a new physiotherapist-led triage model of care in spine surgery clinics. The role will report to Dr Joshua Zadro , Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Institute for Musculoskeletal Health (MHS) . Your key responsibilities will be to: undertake research in the management of low back pain publish research papers demonstrate research excellence assist with grant writing and publishing original work support teaching activities and the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who has: a PhD (or near completion) in the management of musculoskeletal conditions demonstrated ability to conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision the ability and a willingness to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to contribute to long-term research goals excellent communication (written and verbal), organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail a strong track record of publishing their research a developing network of academic industry and professional partners and stakeholders.
