Contracts Specialist managing the end-to-end process of negotiating & executing complex clinical trial research agreements Full time, fixed term contract until April 2026 Base Annual Salary $121,508 - $137,032 17% superannuation About the opportunity As a Contracts Specialist (Clinical Trials ) you will negotiate and execute non-standard contracts relating to clinical trial activities, and supervise and support a team of Contracts Officers, assisting them with complex issues and escalations. Utilising your strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, you will collaborate closely with researchers across the University and make a meaningful contribution to research excellence across the University. Your key responsibilities will be to: report into the Clinical Trials Contracts Manager manage the end-to-end process of drafting, negotiating and executing complex clinical trial contracts, generally using standard University templates act as an escalation point for the Clinical Trials Contracts Officers on complex issues consult with the Office of General Counsel regarding legal issues relating to non-standard contractual arrangements liaise with researchers to obtain relevant information to determine appropriate contracts, providing them with high-level strategic guidance on the establishment of clinical trial contracting arrangements apply legal advice to non-standard contracts to mitigate risk and comply with relevant legislation while facilitating the University’s research objectives evaluate and review team processes, leading continuous improvement initiatives. About you experience in reviewing and executing legal contracts is essential a clinical trials background and an interest in science, medical and/or health research is desirable an understanding of clinical trial regulations and experience negotiating research contracts within a complex organisation strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment with strict deadlines exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and guide researchers on complex contractual matters Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: you must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
