About The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to support the efficient day-to-day operations of Bundaberg Regional Council’s Waste Management Facilities. Working closely with the Supervisor Resource Recovery, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality waste services to the community. This hands-on position involves ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective operation of the facilities, contributing to Council’s environmental and sustainability goals. If you’re passionate about resource recovery and keen to make a positive impact in your local region, this role is for you. About You Provision of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia wide – name only). Hold a current ‘C’ class open drivers licence. Hold a General Construction Induction (White) card. Experience in the operation of waste management facilities or similar environment Demonstrated sound level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work under minimal supervision and with a team focus. Working knowledge of different waste and recycling streams, including various categories of valuable scrap materials. Experience in cash handling and receipting. Demonstrated sound level use of computer related software including MS Office Site, Internet, e-mail and Council corporate software and gate / weighbridge software or similar. Experience in operation of waste management facilities desirable. Experience with or knowledge of the handling, storage and disposal of Hazardous Substances and Dangerous Goods desirable.
