As the WHS Program Consultant , you will bring your expertise in Work Health & Safety, specifically Manual Handling and Occupational Violence & Aggression to a team that's passionate about safety. Reporting directly to the WHS Manager - QLD, you will be a key advisor, collaborating across the organisation to develop and implement impactful WHS programs that focus on personal safety. Your contributions will directly shape a healthier and safer environment for our dedicated staff, ensuring they can continue to deliver exceptional care. This is a Permanent Full-Time position on a hybrid working arrangement based from our Brisbane Group Office. Your role will primarily see you providing support on-site to our St Vincent’s residential aged care and private hospital facilities across Queensland. Key responsibilities of the role: Provide expert consultation and support to SVHA facilities on a wide range of WHS risks and controls, with a specific focus on Manual Handling, Occupational Violence & Aggression, Challenging Behaviours, and Psychosocial Safety. Develop, implement, and review WHS programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to minimise the risk of injury and harm Develop and deliver engaging training and education programs to build capability across the organisation Support incident investigations, contribute to the identification of root causes, and facilitate the development of robust preventative actions Collaborate with key stakeholders across SVHA to promote a consistent and proactive approach to WHS Contribute to the development of meaningful WHS reporting and data analysis to drive continuous improvement Things that work for us: Demonstrated experience and relevant qualifications in the health environment (Nursing or Allied Health), with a current AHPRA registration In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and the ability to apply risk management principles to create practical solutions Proven expertise in developing and implementing WHS programs, policies, and procedures, with a focus on Manual Handling and Occupational Violence & Aggression within a healthcare setting Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills to build strong working relationships Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training programs and provide expert advice to diverse teams Desirable qualifications include Incident Investigation qualification (ICAM Lead Investigator), Certificate IV Training & Assessment, and WHS or related field Current Australian Driver’s Licence is required for this role.
