You'll be involved across all stages of the design process from concept to construction, creating outdoor environments that are imaginative, ecologically grounded, and developmentally enriching. You'll work closely with clients, communities, and builders to bring designs to life, ensuring the vision translates beautifully from paper to built form. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role for someone who thrives on meaningful design with purpose. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of bespoke playscapes with strong narratives grounded in nature and child development principles. Manage projects through all design phases: briefing, concept, schematic design, DA submissions, and construction documentation. Conduct site assessments and develop context-sensitive design responses. Prepare high-quality visuals, 3D renders, and construction documentation using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Integrate horticulture, permaculture, and sustainability into your design approach. Collaborate with builders, fabricators, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery. Coordinate multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholder communications effectively. Ideally you have: Experience in landscape architecture with a strong interest or background in playscapes, education spaces, or childcare environments. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). Solid understanding of planting design, ecological principles, and permaculture (desirable). Familiarity with DA processes and applicable regulations. Excellent communication and presentation skills. A passion for child-centred, environmentally responsive design. Relevant qualifications in landscape architecture or closely related fields. Ideally you will be Registered as a Landscape Architect, we are open to those on that path or have interest too.
