We have a newly created role for a Laboratory Assistant based in Brunswick. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting routine and specialised tests to ensure product safety, quality and compliance. This role plays a key part in maintaining laboratory accuracy, environmental testing and ensuring equipment calibration and maintenance. Some of the key accountabilities for this role are: Support the completion of internal audits and support of audit findings Testing for raw milk and finished products to support quality control procedures Calibration of laboratory equipment daily Perform routine swabbing for environmental monitoring ensuring timely reporting Entry of test results into Quality Management Systems ensuring timely and accurate recording for product release Management and categorisation of the sampling of raw materials and finished productPerform pathogen testing on finished product What we’re looking for: Tertiary level qualification in Food Science or a related field or working towards An ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of food safety standards, laboratory practices and microbiological testing Ability to communicate and liaise with internal stakeholders Skills in report writing and data entry Strong attention to detail in entering test results and maintaining laboratory protocols What do we offer: Employee Rewards Program Employee Assistance Program Training and Development Opportunities Flexibility with hours Five weeks of Annual Leave To apply for this role, please submit a CV and covering letter that best shows your relevant skills and experience.
