Cherry Street Sports Club is a vibrant and community-focused venue in beautiful Ballina, NSW. We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team and help deliver high-quality meals to our patrons. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of menu items to consistently high standards, including à la carte, specials, and function catering. Maintain high levels of food hygiene and safety in compliance with NSW Food Authority standards. Assist in menu planning, food costing, and the development of new dishes and specials. Monitor stock levels, conduct ordering, and manage inventory control to minimise wastage. Supervise and support junior kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times. Work closely with the Head Chef and management to uphold the Club’s culinary reputation. Ensure meals are delivered efficiently, especially during peak trading times, including weekends and events. Qualifications & Experience: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent). Minimum 1-2 years' experience working as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen. Solid understanding of food safety, WHS, and kitchen operations. Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure during busy service periods. Excellent time management, communication, and leadership skills.
