What you'll do This is a professional engineer role within the International Government Global engineering team providing networking and satellite communications solutions concepts, detailed solutions designs, systems integration, maintenance program development, and training solutions. These activities support international government engineering consultancy opportunities as well as commercial proposals, bids, or tender responses in support of the sales teams within International Government. The Solutions Architect role requires you to be a self-sufficient and motivated engineering professional with extensive satellite solutions design experience, overseeing all requirements and dependencies of assigned tasks. You will develop solutions to meet specific international government customer requirements, utilizing existing or new hardware, product configurations, and services. Collaboration with external functional teams is necessary to bring new hardware and services into operation. You will also prepare engineering content for inclusion in commercial RFIs and RFTs, proposals, or quotations. Solutions Architects must also provide technical guidance, instruction, and mentoring to less experienced engineering staff within the team. The day-to-day Provide timely and insightful technical input into tender responses. Design satellite solutions and provide satellite systems integration expertise to support sales teams and the GX VAR. Support ongoing operations with engineering-level technical support. Specify, document, and implement hardware solutions for mobile and fixed satellite services, especially Inmarsat GX. Develop and build customer solutions before handing over to operations for in-life support. Specify, document, and implement hardware solutions for IP networking over satellite. Mentor and support other engineers at a senior level. Deliver training and technical presentations. What you'll need Relevant engineering degree with demonstrated experience in satellite communications. Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Defence Clearance. Experience in developing solutions in a pre-sales environment (bids, RFTs, RFQs). Experience in hardware solutions for IP networking over satellite. What will help you on the job Experience in IT, especially related to satellite communications and networking; knowledge of Microsoft and Linux OS installation and configuration. Proficiency in developing maintenance documentation and support programs based on OEM documentation. Experience with ILS systems, particularly in relation to ASDEFCON. Innovative self-starters capable of pushing boundaries to find optimal solutions. Expertise in hardware solutions for IP networking over satellite; CCIE level preferred.
