Newly created senior leadership roleContribute at a strategic levelFantastic career and lifestyle opportunity As a newly created Senior Leadership role, this is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful community initiatives as the Manager Community Development at Wellington Shire Council.Reporting directly to the General Manager Development, the Manager Community Development is a member of the Wellington Shire Council (WSC) Leadership Team and is responsible for delivering a range of strategic services to the organisation. In this role you will provide key policy advice and high-level guidance on community development, library services, and wellbeing initiatives. You'll lead the design and delivery of programs and plans that enhance social, cultural, and community outcomes-bringing to life Council's vision for a connected, inclusive, and thriving municipality. Key responsibilities of the role include:The delivery of high-level advice on community development issues to senior management, Councilors and Council staff.Implementing community development and library services.The management of service delivery under the Wellington Shire Council Plan, Community Wellbeing Business Plan, Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and Wellington Access and Inclusion Plan (legislated Disability Action Plan).Developing and maintaining internal and external networks to maximise community outcomes.Engaging all key internal and external stakeholders in community infrastructure facility development and governance. Your strategic outlook and highly developed leadership skills are essential to your success in this position, as is your experience in advocacy and a community facing role. About You - what we are looking for:Proven experience in managing community development and library services, with a focus on strategic planning and delivery.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.Extensive knowledge of community wellbeing, social policy, and local government processes.Excellent communication and relationship building skills, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes.Solid experience in managing budgets and delivering projects within scope and financial parameters.A passion for creating inclusive, equitable and accessible community services.Superior time management and strong organisational skills.Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
